In the final phase of the DEM2.0 project (2022-2024), the project leader, Gabriele Giacomini, will participate in several public events to engage with citizens on topics related to the Democracy 2.0 project. These events offer an important opportunity to involve the public in reflections on the changes brought by the digital transformation, particularly concerning democratic values.
Preliminary Events
Two key events will precede the final public meeting:
Pordenone: On September 22, 2024, during the PordenoneLegge Festival, Giacomini will reflect with Sebastiano Maffettone, a political philosopher, and Giovanni Boniolo, a philosopher of science, on the topic of distributed and democratic knowledge in the digital society. This discussion will emphasize the crucial role of education and knowledge sharing in an increasingly digitalized society.
Udine: On October 6, 2024, during the Collegamenti Festival, Giacomini will engage with other experts in a dialogue on the question “What is Artificial Intelligence for?”, addressing the democratic implications of artificial intelligence. The event will feature Gian Luca Foresti, Laura Margheri, and Simona Regina as participants.
Final Meeting at the Mimesis Festival
Gorizia: The final event organized specifically for the DEM2.0 project will be held on October 18, 2024, during the Mimesis Festival in Gorizia, one of the most prominent cultural events in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region. The discussion will focus on the future of democracy, with particular attention to the concepts of freedom and equality. Andrea Zhok and Edoardo Greblo, prominent figures in the philosophical and political debate, will participate. The event will be moderated by journalist Roberto Manzocco.
